New fish should not be added until the healthy bacteria in your tank has been established, this can be achieved by first adding “Cycle” or “Stability” to your tank water daily for at least one week, we suggest adding double dosage then the bottles recommendation as this healthy organism and bacteria supplement is very beneficial when starting a new tank. We also recommend running your tank empty for at least one week before adding fish to it and getting you water tested, which can be done free of charge in our pet department. When adding fish to a new tank, only a few should be added at a time as not to spike the “bad bacteria” in your water. An example of some good “starter fish” are: Common gold fish, blackshirt tetra, tiger barb or an algae eater. More information can be acquired in our pet department.
